Data Integration and Mirage Networks form partnership to target UK security market

27 Sep 2006

Data Integration today announced that it has joined Mirage Networks’ ChannelFirst Partner programme in an agreement to sell and support the company’s range of endpoint security and behavioural analysis products.

Mirage Endpoint Control solutions are delivered on easy-to-deploy, network-based appliances. The appliances are deployed out-of-band, eliminating the need for customers to re-architect their networks or integrate with switches or routers.

Garath Lauder, Managing Director at Data Integration said, Mirage’s products will fulfil our customers’ requirements for an agent-less approach to interior network security. We see this as being particularly useful for organisations that want to improve security, but need to allow ‘unmanaged’ devices to access their network. We have conducted a thorough evaluation of products in the Network Access Control arena and believe that Mirage complements the other products in our security portfolio perfectly.

Peter Ruijters, VP EMEA for Mirage Networks, said: "We chose to work with Data Integration because of their extensive experience in building trusted networks. They are one of the few integrators in the UK that already has experience with this relatively new area of technology. We look forward to building a successful relationship with the Data Integration team."

Mirage's easy to deploy, easy to manage, appliance-based technology:

  • Ensures policy enforcement and threat termination from the moment any device enters the network
  • Works with current IT and networking infrastructure and leverages investments in tested security solutions
  • Is effective without agents to manage thousands of device types
  • Covers all OSs and IP devices, from desktop workstations to IP phones to PDAs
  • Catches day-zero threats out of the box and without signatures

Mirage solutions use behavioural rules to detect when devices are either spreading threats or violating policies, even if the threat is a new one, and patches are either unavailable or not yet installed. It then surgically isolates the device in question, avoiding cross-infection while enabling remediation, before allowing the device renewed access to network resources. In so doing, it stops damage from threats introduced onto the network by mobile computing, remote connections, and day-zero malware -- complementing perimeter security solutions and giving companies a more complete, in-depth security defence infrastructure.
