Data Integration today announced that it has deployed a fully converged voice and data network for Abbey Business Centres in its flagship offices in the Swiss Re Tower, 30 St Mary Axe, London which is affectionately known as The Gherkin. The new network is based on Extreme Networks and Avaya technology.
Abbey Business Centres, one of the largest serviced offices providers in the UK, needed a high-tech voice and data infrastructure that was in keeping with such a prestigious building, but that is also flexible and simple to manage.
The network and managed services provided by Data Integration enables Abbey Business Centres to provide reliable voice and data services and helps them to differentiate their business in the competitive serviced offices market. Abbey chose Data Integration for the project because of:
The company's ability to offer a fully converged voice, data and cabling solution with in-house project management skills to oversee the implementation
Their ability to provide a fully managed service including user and hardware support
The proven expertise of the company's engineering team
Paul Wixon, IT Manager for Abbey Business Centres said, We needed a range of sophisticated features from the network in order to provide the latest voice and data services that our customers expect in a prime location such as this. However, we also need the features to be simple to manage as it is not practical to have specialist technical staff at every site. Data Integration managed the whole project, from structured cabling through to the deployment and testing of the voice and data systems, and delivered on time and to budget.
The converged network solution, which is made up of an Extreme Networks Summit 48si in the core and Summit 200 48 edge switches, an Avaya Intelligent Communication Platform VoIP telephony system and a Juniper NetScreen firewall, enables Abbey to provide dedicated phone numbers and voicemail for over 300 customers as well as a range of chargeable fixed and wireless internet and security services.
The managed service provided by Data Integration includes end user network support for all clients and staff across all centres and allows Abbey Business Centres to provide a full range of internet services to their clients without having to invest in their own IT staff.
Simon Crumplin, CEO of Data Integration said, We have been working with Abbey for the past five years and manage the infrastructure for all of the company's UK offices. We are pleased that Abbey continues to entrust this essential element of their business to Data Integration. I believe it's a reflection of Abbey's confidence in our flexible approach and ability to deliver, that they have again chosen to partner with us.
