Firewall Technology Pioneer Nir Zuk To Lead Seminar on Next Generation Firewalls

09 Apr 2009

Nir Zuk, former Principal Engineer of Check Point and developer stateful inspection and former CTO of NetScreen (which was acquired by Juniper in 2004) will be leading a seminar hosted by IT services company, Data Integration, in London on 13th May. The seminar will focus on how next generation firewalls can help organisations to regain control and visibility of their network traffic.

Nir Zuk will explain how next generation firewalls can fight and mitigate risk from social networking, SaaS, instant messaging and streaming media - as well as traditional port and protocol based threats.

The Palo Alto firewall is unique in its approach as it detects applications as well as protocols including webmail, over 400 types of IM, P2P apps, file transfer, SaaS tools, media services, and encrypted SSH and SSL. It also detects user identities, IP addresses, content, SSL streams as well as traditional traffic flows.

Nir Zuk’s presentation and live demonstration will also demonstrate that these new firewalls can reduce capital costs on network replacement, ULR, and app/web firewalls by over 66%, reduce license fees by over 80%, and annual maintenance fees by over 50%.

All seminar attendees will receive a copy of a detailed report by the Ponemon Institute that measures Web 2.0 application usage by employees from over 600 organisations.
