LONDON, 24 February, 2011 - Xchanging (LSE: XCH), a global business processor, has won a second contract with Gatwick Airport Limited, this time to provide the airport's End User Computing Services. The contract follows Xchanging's initial success in October last year when the company won a contract to deliver Gatwick's Network Managed Services. The move furthers the strategic relationship between Gatwick and Xchanging. This will enable the partnership to work more closely to deliver improved IT services to the airport's customers.
The End User Computing Services contract will see Xchanging manage and maintain all endpoint devices used by the airport. This includes desktop PCs, printers, projectors, handheld devices, mobile devices and the flight information screens (FIS) used by passengers.
Stuart Birrell, CIO, Gatwick Airport Limited said, "Having both the Network and End User Computing Services managed by Xchanging enables us to think more strategically about the provisioning of applications and services to users. Our airport serves a complex ecosystem of partners, and our ability to provide a more 'joined up', end-to-end service across the network and its endpoints will enable us to make information technology (IT) more effective for the airport's passengers, staff and partners".
Paddy Byrne, Executive Director, Xchanging UK Region added, "Securing a second contract with Gatwick is an important step as we seek to develop our partnership with the airport. Xchanging has a broad range of technology skills and services and the award of the second contract signals that Gatwick values the service and expertise that we bring to the partnership. We look forward to building on this in the coming months".
